So here it is, the first proper video of my post-VR endeavours. Okay well I kept a similar style with the avatar and all that because it works for me and I'll be blowed if I have to do a video of only voiceover+B-Roll again.
Overall I'm really happy with how this one turned out, feel like the quality is on par with, if not exceeding that of the Hig Glove video. I think the biggest change is that I've gone from talking about things that interest me in a way that only other people with the interest can understand, to trying to help people who are unfamiliar with these concepts learn about them. It's obviously not perfect but I think I did a pretty good job overall here, whether the mighty algorithm agrees is still up in the air though (please share the video around if you liked it!!)
One amusing thing to come of this is a couple of my friends who saw an early draft of this video assumed I had it out for noodle because I used a clip from his old need for speed video to kick off my rant about the phrase "arcade racer", truth be told I actually really liked that video and pretty much everything else he's done! I just figured poking at that clip specifically was the best way to broach that topic early on in the writing process and never changed it. In hindsight I definitely could've been a bit more delicate, but this has been getting on my nerves for so long that I also really don't have any regrets with my sledgehammer level approach to it.
So what's next? Well uni work for one, I've been adjusting alright to living on my own but juggling everything hasn't worked out too well so far and the uni work has fallen the furthest behind, as much as I'd liked to have done a smaller video over the holiday period, I seriously doubt that'll be happening. Likewise while I have a load of ideas for future videos I want to do, I'm not sure when I'll dive back into them, since I have some other ideas for creative projects outside of youtube that I'm interested in pursuing, I guess follow my socials to see what I get up to next?
